Background

Founded in 1985 as a traditional hardware store, Verktygsboden built its reputation by importing high-quality, unique products. Over the years, it has become the go-to destination for both professional and amateur carpenters, offering tools and equipment difficult to find elsewhere.

In the early 2000s, Verktygsboden turned to opportunities on the Internet and became one of the industry’s first e-commerce stores. Perhaps unknown at the time, this bold decision put the company well ahead of the curve in today’s competitive digital landscape.

Twenty-five years later, Verktygsboden is one of Sweden’s largest e-commerce stores, carrying over 20,000 different products. However, digitalization also brought an increase in foreign competition and a host of new challenges, many of them in the marketing department.


Solution

After a period of trial and error in digital marketing, both internally and externally, with consultants, the company made another bold move. This time, they became early adopters of our automated, AI-powered marketing solution.

As a clean-cut e-commerce store, Verktygsboden depends heavily on strong search engine rankings and targeted advertising to drive success. To achieve this, we implemented Amanda AI across Google and Bing in their primary market, Sweden, as well as in neighboring Denmark and Norway. Additionally, in the latter markets where Verktygsboden has a smaller presence, we also prioritized Meta ads to boost brand visibility and awareness.

Since partnering with Amanda AI in October 2023, Verktygsboden has achieved impressive results. On Google, the ROAS has improved by 106%, all while maintaining the same budget as day one. Over on Bing, conversions have increased by 52% – along with a staggering 2,267% improvement in ROAS.

The team is now perfectly positioned to achieve its ambitious goal of doubling sales across all three markets next year. Looking back, it’s clear that bold decisions regarding new technology – whether made two decades ago or just last year – are a key ingredient in Verktygsboden’s ongoing success.
